2nd Jon Gomm Acoustic Guitar Boot Camp

August 26th – 30th 2026

The UK iteration of the premier residential acoustic guitar camp on the planet returns for round two! Just as the Austria venue is very Austrian, the UK one is very English, with an idyllic retreat being the gorgeous background for four days of total guitar submergence.

For the inaugural edition, we have a stellar line-up of instructors: Jon Gomm, Thomas Leeb, Pino Forastiere, Chris Woods, and more.

This event is expected to sell out fast, so please book early to avoid disappointment.

FAQ

  • When, Where and How Much?

The Acoustic Guitar Bootcamp runs from August 26th-30th 2026 at The Asha Centre, an idyllic retreat set in the beautiful Forest Of Dean, in Gloucestershire in the southwest of England. It's the perfect setting to learn and relax.  Accommodation and full catering will be provided.

  • Am I good enough to participate?

We encourage a non-competitive, friendly atmosphere.  Guitar shredding snobbery is strongly discouraged and gets thrown into the lake! On one end of the spectrum you’ll have someone who’s never played in an open tuning and can barely pick while on the other end you’ll find a semi-professional on a very high level.

  • Can I bring someone else to the workshop who doesn't participate?

This should be possible if space allows. Please let us know when making your initial booking inquiry.

  • But I'm really bad at playing the guitar!

That is exactly why people go to workshops. Everybody comes at their level and leaves with improvements.

  • Travel: planes, trains and automobiles!

By Car:  There is easy road access and free parking for cars at the Asha Centre.

By Train:  The closest station is Gloucester (check out the ‘can I get a ride’ section below)

By Plane:  If flying into the UK, you can opt to rent a car and drive from the airport to the Bootcamp, or take a train to Gloucester Station, or it may be possible to arrange a ride with a fellow camper (there will be an online chat group available for registered Bootcampers).

The Asha Centre is about 1.5 hours drive from Bristol Airport (BRS), 1.5 hours from Birmingham Airport (BHX), 2.5 hours from London Heathrow (LHR).

  • When should I arrive/leave?

August 26th is is mostly an arrival day: check-in starts around noon, there will be an orientation meeting in the afternoon, followed by dinner. On the last day, the 30th, most people are still a little slow from the previous nights’ festivities and tend start the journey home around noon. A few die-hards sometimes hang out  into the afternoon.

  • Can I get a ride to the Bootcamp?

We will do our best to connect people who need to hitch a ride with people who can. In the Austria camp, this has worked wonderfully over the years.

  • What if I need to cancel?

We will do our best to ‘sell’ your space to someone else but due to the international character of the event, it is often not possible to find a replacement on the spot. In general, the deposit is not refundable and the rest becomes non-refundable one month before launch.
